Louder and Teutenberg take Redlands overall

After securing the overall lead following the stage two circuit, Jeff Louder (Salt Lake City, Utah/BMC) held off Bissell's Tom Zirbel (Boulder, Colo.) to secure the overall victory at theRedlands Bicycle Classic by just five seconds. Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (GER/Columbia-High Road) used the race's bonus sprints to gain the last second needed to edge out Nürnberger-Shoair's Amber Neben (Irvine, Calif.) by one second and claim the overall victory. Louder grabbed the early lead after only one event on the men's NRC, while Teutenberg overtook Amgen Tour of California Women's Criterium winner, Emila Fahlin (SWE/Columbia-High Road), to take the women's NRC lead after two events. The next event on the 2009 NRC will be the Dana Point Grand Prix of Cycling. The 1.5-rated event will take place on April 26 in Dana Point, Calif.
