The break group competes in Stage 5 of the AMGEN Tour of California from Visalia to Paso Robles on February 19, 2009 in San Luis Obispo County, California.

After securing the overall lead following the stage two circuit, Jeff Louder (Salt Lake City, Utah/BMC) held off Bissell's Tom Zirbel (Boulder, Colo.) to secure the overall victory at theRedlands Bicycle Classic by just five seconds. Ina-Yoko Teutenberg (GER/Columbia-High Road) used the race's bonus sprints to gain the last second needed to edge out Nürnberger-Shoair's Amber Neben (Irvine, Calif.) by one second and claim the overall victory. Click here for complete results from the NRC's first men's event and second women's event, the 2.2-rated Redlands Classic.
