National Development Team continues to defend BYR jersey in Mexico

Peter Stetina (Boulder, Colo) continued his impressive showing at the Telmex Vuelta Mexico with a ninth-place finish in the grueling 215-kilometer Stage 5 on Thursday. With his top-10 finish, Stetina holds on to the Best Young Rider jersey and moves to 14th overall. His USA Cycling National Development Team compatriot, Kirk Carlsen (Sandtown, N.H.) is holding in third in the Best Young Rider category after finishing 20th in stage five.
Following Carlsen, the USA Cycling National Development Team's Taylor Schelden (Breckenridge, Colo.) finished 49th, and Christopher Barton (Ojai, Calif.) 54th. As a team, the young riders are currently in sixth place overall, around 30 minutes behind GC leading Rock Racing.
Next up will be the 177-kilometer jaunt from San Miguel Allende - León, Guanajuato on Friday, March 6.
