USA Cycling (Mountain Biking)
Blog RSSI took a good break after the World Championships and then did quite a bit of base training so I wasn't sure how I would be going in Windham. It turned out I was riding pretty well in the XC but halfway through the race I cut a sidewall and had to try and fix the tire. I had a faulty tube and had to call it a day after only half of the race. I did manage to get some good training in anyway by riding most of the way back to my family's house.
The short track was the next day and it went much better for me. My brother, Troy, and I were able to work together for most of the race and I came out with the victory. That is only my second ever short track victory so I was pretty excited. I got some good training in that day also by riding back home but this time I had some company. Andy Shultz has been staying with us for this east coast swing so we rode back together.
My wife, Meg came back to Windham with me but she flew home yesterday to go back to work and take care of Winston. We did get to see each other for almost three weeks straight which is some sort of record for this season.
This week I haven't been doing too much. Troy, Andy and I have been doing our training together. I have been taking some great sea level naps and watching the Tour three times a day. I waste more time during the Tour then any other time of year. I guess that's good though with Nationals coming up this weekend and that being a big goal of mine for this year.
When Meg got home we had a certified letter from Europe waiting for us at the post office. I thought it was a bike I was waiting for but it turns out it is Spanish speeding ticket from the Madrid World Cup in April or May. Great.
I wonder what Winston is doing right now......
