Personal
After graduating from Kingston High School in New York in 1994, Todd Wells entered the pro mountain bike circuit in 1996.  After modest success as an off-road racer, Todd gave it up to attend school at the University of Arizona where a Bachelor's degree in Management Information Systems landed him a job in corporate American with IBM.  Despite being on a solid career path in the business world, Todd was eager to return to mountain bike racing and his hometown of Durango, Colo., so he quit his job and came back to the sport.  The move paid off after earning a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team in 2004 and placing 19th as the best American.

The solid all-around rider began his cycling career as a BMX rider at the age of five, but switched to mountain biking and had aspirations of becoming a world-class gravity racer.  Eventually he discovered his niche as an endurance athlete and is also one of the top riders on the U.S. cyclo-cross circuit, having won a pair of elite men's national titles in 2001 and 2005.  In 2008, Wells will again be one of the top U.S. performers on the international mountain bike circuit as he hopes to return to the Games and improve upon his 2004 result.

Todd currently resides in Durango with his wife and biggest supporter, Meg. In his spare time, Todd enjoys playing with his dog and hanging out on the beach.
